House Training a Puppy

Well, I have to say that house training a puppy takes diligence, consistency and patience. Puppies are challenging but very worth it. Maggie is a very good girl and loves to play with her big brother Dakota. They have gotten great at sharing toys, bones and are getting along great. It did take Dakota a few days to figure Maggie out...lol. I think that I'm going to get some help for the house training stuff to save my carpets. You can check out this link of the site I'm going to. Take care and come back for updates and tips.....

Puppy

We have found a fun and inexpensive toy for out new puppy "Maggie" to play with. Put water in a small bowl to freeze...when Maggie gets one of those, she can entertain herself for a long time as it scoots across the floor as she is playing with it. I like homemade toys...they are the most fun. We like to take a favorite toy and change it by putting it in an old sock or nylon....our dogs love nylons....crazy for them. That way, your dog has a brand new toy for their brains to play with and figure out. We have been crate training our Maggie at night and it works out well. During the day while we are at work, we have a section of the kitchen that we enclose with gates. We are really working hard at the house training thing, it is challenging but the most important thing to do is be consistent and patient. Maggie is a good girl, but all puppy at 9 weeks...she is either playing hard, sleeping , eating or outside working on her house training. I'm so glad that we got our Maggie from our local dog rescue group. Well, more updates soon....till later...

New dog spoiling tools

Well, I wanted to take a moment to share with you a fantastic site that I found. It's called "Lucy's Dog House". This site has so many things to spoil your fabulous dog. What I love is that a portion of all sales to to dog rescue! It breaks my heart when I hear of a mistreated dog..any animal for that matter. I'm glad that they help support that great cause as do I. They have some incredible custom leather collars as well as regular collars with custom sizes. You should just check out the site for all of the extra information that is there....dog names, training aids, and any product that you can imaging as well as a blog of their own. Just lots of great information and products. Well, take care, I'm off to walk spoiled Dakota and it's freezing and windy out.....I sure do love that guy. Till later....
