Puppy High Five
I think this is the most precious picture. Dakota and Maggie are sleeping in this position. It looks as if they are doing a "high five", playing patty cake or praying together. They are still getting along so well. The puppy Maggie is now almost 10 months, so I guess I'll have to back off on the "puppy" label.....but we all know it's tough to let them grow up...lol. She has gotten into the habit of performing the delicate surgery of "de-stuffing" her toys. I'm going to have to be creative when shopping for her dog toys.

Dog Toys
As you can see, Maggie is doing her "ET" impersonation....lol. She just loves it when I put all of the dog toys and squeaky toys in the middle of the living room. It gives her something to chew besides the furniture. Gives a puppy better chewing options and I can engage her brain with fun learning games. Dakota and Maggie are learning how to share.....even dog bones if you can believe it.Dakota is a good big brother and is teaching Maggie some good lessons. The cat Shooter has even stopped torturing Maggie....they have an "understanding"....don't get too close...lol. Maggie is so good still in her dog crate at night, we are proud of her. The house training is still a challenge that we are facing with consistency and patience. I look forward to sharing more with all of you and will put a video together of her to post....until later.....

What to do with a lazy dog
So, Dakota is only 7 but he has been getting a bit lazy. His sister, our great chocolate lab Brittany has been gone for 2 years now from cancer. We think that it may be time for Dakota as well as his mommies to get another dog. We'll be adopting a younger female dog from a local dog rescue group. We are still looking for our new family member and can't wait to buy her a dog bed, dog collar and dog toys. Check back for updates......maybe there will be another star for this blog before long. Till later......thanks for following.....

Back Home to my Dog
I had such a fantastic time on vacation to New Hampshire. I spent some priceless time with friends and family. A couple of my friends rescues dogs from their hometown shelter. They have 2 right now and are about to adopt another. They are really loved and spoiled dogs. They have landed with great "mommies" who are so good with them. They have so many toys, chewies, bones and great dog beds. Of course, my spoiled dog Dakota was so very excited to see me when I came home....as I was to see him. Actually, I'm quite tired from my vacation, so I'll end for now....till later.

New dog spoiling tools
Well, I wanted to take a moment to share with you a fantastic site that I found. It's called "Lucy's Dog House". This site has so many things to spoil your fabulous dog. What I love is that a portion of all sales to to dog rescue! It breaks my heart when I hear of a mistreated dog..any animal for that matter. I'm glad that they help support that great cause as do I. They have some incredible custom leather collars as well as regular collars with custom sizes. You should just check out the site for all of the extra information that is there....dog names, training aids, and any product that you can imaging as well as a blog of their own. Just lots of great information and products. Well, take care, I'm off to walk spoiled Dakota and it's freezing and windy out.....I sure do love that guy. Till later....

Dakota's 2nd christmas
Well, Christmas came again for Dakota this year. His Grandma Nancy gave him a Christmas stocking yesterday. There were dog treats, dog toys, rawhide bones and an awesome new collar. We just set it down and let him pull things out and choose what he wanted first. Of course he went for the stuffed toy first....he just loves to run around the house and flip it in the air and wait for us to chase him. Just hanging out for New Years Eve. Talk to you all next year and a Happy New Year to all....till later....

Christmas Challenges
I have learned over the years not to sit on the floor to wrap Christmas presents. My dog Dakota and my cat Shooter think that it is an invitation to "help" me. Shooter loves to walk on the paper and Dakota feels the need to lay on and over presents and paper. It seems that I spend more time petting and loving on them than wrapping. I think that they have gotten together and formed a plan to get extra attention. Dakota found one of the dog toys and his new dog collar as I was wrapping them. That was a site...he thought I was pretty stupid wrapping it up and not giving it to him right then. I'm off to give Dakota a bath so he will have a nice and shiny soft coat. Till later....
