What to do with a lazy dog

So, Dakota is only 7 but he has been getting a bit lazy. His sister, our great chocolate lab Brittany has been gone for 2 years now from cancer. We think that it may be time for Dakota as well as his mommies to get another dog. We'll be adopting a younger female dog from a local dog rescue group. We are still looking for our new family member and can't wait to buy her a dog bed, dog collar and dog toys. Check back for updates......maybe there will be another star for this blog before long. Till later......thanks for following.....

Dakota the Snow Dog
So, Dakota really didn't want me to post this picture of him in the blowing snow storm this weekend. He thinks he looks like a dweeb....and I as his mother, of course told him he didn't. Dakota isn't much for the snow after it hardens....the whole crunching through the top layer thing bothers him. What do people do who's dogs have short legs in a lot of snow....have to shovel out a "bathroom area"for them...lol. They do sell those booties for the dogs (dog shoes) who have longer fur on their paws that get icy. I've found a site that has them if anyone is interested. Well, when he got back from this walk...he was exhausted and went straight for his dog bed. Because of his sore hips, I made sure to give him some medicine also. So, I will go for now and leave you with a little something to make you smile. May the sun shine upon your face and brighten your heart. Until later.....

Back Home to my Dog
I had such a fantastic time on vacation to New Hampshire. I spent some priceless time with friends and family. A couple of my friends rescues dogs from their hometown shelter. They have 2 right now and are about to adopt another. They are really loved and spoiled dogs. They have landed with great "mommies" who are so good with them. They have so many toys, chewies, bones and great dog beds. Of course, my spoiled dog Dakota was so very excited to see me when I came home....as I was to see him. Actually, I'm quite tired from my vacation, so I'll end for now....till later.

New dog spoiling tools
Well, I wanted to take a moment to share with you a fantastic site that I found. It's called "Lucy's Dog House". This site has so many things to spoil your fabulous dog. What I love is that a portion of all sales to to dog rescue! It breaks my heart when I hear of a mistreated dog..any animal for that matter. I'm glad that they help support that great cause as do I. They have some incredible custom leather collars as well as regular collars with custom sizes. You should just check out the site for all of the extra information that is there....dog names, training aids, and any product that you can imaging as well as a blog of their own. Just lots of great information and products. Well, take care, I'm off to walk spoiled Dakota and it's freezing and windy out.....I sure do love that guy. Till later....

Dog Beds
In my home, having a dog bed is kind of a joke...jokes on me. My dog Dakota enjoys his king size "dog bed"....he is such a bed hog. I realize that I've created this monster and give up 1/3 + of my bed because of my weakness. I do spoil that wonderful dog so....although, he does know that I am Alfa in his house. I have tried various great dog beds which worked well when I had more than one dog. Once my awesome chocolate lab passed away...I softened with the dog bed on the floor rule. Well, we are happy and that's what is important. It will be a rude awakening when I get another dog someday.....well, till later.....
