Well, the time has finally come for Maggie to start going to obedience class. She started last week and so far she is doing great. As of now, she has only 2 classmates; a miniature Australian shepherd named Bodie and a Bassett hound named Gus. This week my home work is working on "down" and generally paying attention to you when you are talking to her...lol. As all of you puppy owners know, sometimes they are so busy being a puppy and playing with siblings that your words have no effect. I've been using a squirt gun (not a supper soaker..lol) to correct bad behavior from a distance....it works! She is a good girl and really doesn't like being scolded so there is hope for all of us....yeah! The house breaking is good when we are here, but of course, we try to avoid mistakes. She is 13 weeks old now and only 12.5 lbs. We still don't know what mixture she is...it's going to be fun to watch her grow up. My original spoiled dog Dakota really loves having Maggie around. He whines when Maggie has gone somewhere like the vet or class. Good to know we made the right decision in getting Dakota a friend.
